13th annual conference Register now for the 13th annual Coastal Development Strategies Conference, to be held Nov. 7-8 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi. This year's conference theme is The Economy and the Environment: Finding Harmony. The conference is hosted by the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, Mississippi Gulf Coast National Heritage Area and conference partners the Gulf Coast Business Council and Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.

This year's conference features two full days of speakers and break-out sessions. The first day of the conference will feature keynote speaker, Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant. Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann will also speak on the first day. Mississippi Senator Brice Wiggins will open the second day of the conference. Conference topics include Tools for a More Sustainable and Resilient Coastal Mississippi, National Heritage Area Program Overview, Gulf Islands National Seashore: Past, Present and Future, historic property restoration, the military and environmental stewardship, an update on economic development in Hancock County, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the Gulf Coast Heritage Trails Partnership, Transportation & Infrastructure Development, Tourism Developments, economic and military overviews.
