CMR Certifies Two State Saltwater Fishing Records

 

BILOXI, Miss. – The Commission on Marine Resources (CMR) certified two Mississippi recreational saltwater fishing records during its June meeting.

Austin Fox of Vancleave broke the state conventional tackle record for Bonnethead with a 13-pound, 8.64-ounce fish on April 29, 2012.

Breanna Gray of Austin, Texas broke the state conventional tackle record for Atlantic Sharpnose shark with a 10-pound, 7.18-ounce fish on May 17, 2012.

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
