Shrimp Licensing

The licenses are on sale now and may be purchased at the Department of Marine Resources at 1141 Bayview Avenue in Biloxi, Mississippi. All non-residents must purchase their licenses from the DMR.

Shrimp season is officially opened by public notice at such time that the Office of Marine Fisheries has determined that the shrimp have reached legal size.

Non-resident Shrimp (vessel 30' or less)  $ 110

Non-resident Shrimp (vessel 45' or more)  $ 210
Non-resident Shrimp Recreational (net 16' or less)  $ 30
Louisiana Resident Shrimp Recreational  $ 100
Louisiana Resident Shrimp (one trawl)  $ 700
Louisiana Resident (two trawls)  $ 800

Every individual applying for a license must have with them at the time of registration a valid driver's license (driver's license must match boat owner's identification), boat documentation/registration, and the license fee (cash and checks are accepted, credit cards and out-of-state checks are not accepted). To be issued a tax number, the individual must have a current shrimping license from another state.

*A net OVER 16 ft. in size changes fishery status from recreational to commercial.
